Uploading VyOS to AWS as AMI fails

hello,

Im trying to build an AMI on AWS from the latest release 1.1.7 of VyOS, but am running into problems. I have tried several methods, OVA, OVF, VHD, and they all come back with an error of: "StatusMessage": "ClientError: Unknown OS / Missing OS files."

This occurs during the 'aws ec2 import-image' procedure. Has anyone got this working?

I just meet the same problem. May be you have solved it?

Yeap... Somehow I 'missed' the fact that the AMI's already exist if you search under the community ones for 'vyos'. They exist in Singapore and Sydney region from memory and probably others.

If you want to build yourself, you cant build it like a normal VM as I mentioned in my first post, you have to use this;

You can use import-snapshot and register-image like this:
